In einem Brief an seine Parteimitglieder hat Spaniens Ministerpräsident Pedro Sanchez das Vorgehen der USA in Venezuela als Verstoß gegen das Völkerrecht verurteilt. Damit hat sich der Ton des spanischen Regierungschefs noch einmal verschärft: Sanchez hatte gestern Mittag in einem kurzen Post auf X noch zu Deeskalation aufgerufen und später dann mitgeteilt, dass es die "Intervention“ der USA in dem Land nicht anerkenne, so wie es auch das "Maduro-Regime“ zuvor nicht anerkannt habe.

Maduro sicherte Macron und anderen EU Chefs nach dem Einmarsch der Russen in die Ukraine freie Wahlen in Venezuela zu. Im Gegenzug wollte die EU die Sanktionen gegen Venezuela lockern und Erdöl aus dem Land importieren um den Wegfall der russischen Ölimporte zu kompensieren. Schon bald zeichnete sich aber ab, dass die Wahlen alles andere als frei stattfinden würden, da Maduro die aussichtsreichsten Mitbewerber entschlossen behinderte/verhinderte.

Vielleicht erklärt das Macrons Position.

Man sollte Trump in der Grönland Frage keinen cm entgegen kommen. Soll er Zölle verhängen oder sich auf ein militärisches Abenteuer (Krieg wird das nicht bedeuten) einlassen. Alles was er tut, wird ihn und die Republikaner nur schwächen und immer mehr Leuten in den USA verdeutlichen, dass er ein durchgeknallter Irrer mit dem Verhalten eines nervigen Kleinkindes ist.
